About Robert

Robert Babich is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MS, LMHC) with a unique path to clinical practice. Before entering the field of psychotherapy, Robert spent over 30 years as a restaurateur in New York City, where he developed a deep understanding of people through thousands of conversations and moments of genuine connection. These experiences laid the foundation for his second career—one focused on listening, guiding, and supporting others through meaningful therapeutic work.

In his practice, Robert brings a warm, human-centered approach to helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family dynamics, and sexual concerns. He has particular expertise in men’s work, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for emotional exploration, identity development, and relational healing.

Outside of his professional work, Robert enjoys spending time outdoors—camping, hiking, skiing, and relaxing at the beach. He values quality time with his three grown sons, whom he considers a rich source of learning and joy. A lifelong learner, Robert is also an avid reader of both professional and fictional literature and is continuously exploring ways to grow in both his personal and clinical life.

His extended mindfulness practice—which includes yoga, meditation, and breathwork—helps him stay grounded. He encourages his clients to discover their own restorative practices, empowering them to find balance, resilience, and a deeper connection to themselves.
